Abstract

Gonioscopy is essential to make a correct diagnosis of glaucoma. However, it requires a skilled examiner for being performed, and it may provide subjective information. The assessment of the iridocorneal angle by means of currently available modalities (such as ultrasound biomicroscopy or anterior segment OCT) gives anatomical quantification of angle structures without providing any chromatic information. In this study, image analysis was carried out in the pictures acquired by the prototype of a recently developed gonioscopy device, capable to automatically acquire \(360^\circ \) images of the iridocorneal angle, to verify the feasibility of performing an automatic Scheie’s pigmentation grading of the trabecular meshwork.
