Bosch is establishing a new division called Cross-Domain Computing Solutions. From the start of 2021, the new unit will supply electronic systems and the accompanying software to all automotive customers.

The market for software-intensive electronic systems is expected to grow by around 15 % each year between now and 2030. In response to this change, Bosch has established a division for software and electronics with the aim of reducing the complexity of vehicle development with cross-domain software and electronics solutions and developing software-intensive systems for future vehicle architectures. The division will therefore also be responsible for the development of vehicle computers, control units and sensors.

Bosch’s new division consists of software, electrical and electronics engineers pooled from the driver assistance, automated driving, car multimedia, power train, and body electronics divisions. "Supplying software from a single source is our response to the enormous challenge of making cars ever more digitalised," says Harald Kröger, member of the board of management in Bosch’s Mobility Solutions business sector. The new division will employ around 17,000 staff at more than 40 sites in over 20 countries.
