New Ford Focus Unveiled also as a Crossover Version

The new Ford is based on the newly developed C2 platform and is longer, wider and sleeker than its predecessor. The front with the longer bonnet reinterprets the trapezoid grille, and the cabin has been moved backwards a little. Together with the shorter overhangs, the Focus looks sporty and compact.

The compact Ford has grown 18 millimetres longer than its predecessor in the saloon version and 108 millimetres longer as an estate car. The height has been reduced by fifteen millimetres for the saloon and twenty millimetres for the estate car, while the width without mirrors has increased by two millimetres. The wheelbase has also been extended by 52 millimetres.

A suspension system with electronic damper control CCD (Continuously Controlled Damping) and selectable drive mode is available as an option. An isolated chassis frame on the rear axle is intended to improve suspension and noise comfort. In addition to Active Park Assist 2, Head-up display and Evasive Steering Assist, the range of driver assistance systems also includes the new "Ford Intelligent Drive Assist", which combines ACC with Stop & Go, Speed Sign Recognition and Lane-Centring. 

All engines meet Euro 6d-temp

All engines meet the Euro 6d-temp emission standards based on the World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure. The petrol engines come in two three-cylinder versions. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost is offered in three power levels with 62 kW (85 hp), 74 kW (100 hp) and 92 kW (125 hp). The 1.5-litre EcoBoost comes with 110 kW (150 hp) and 134 kW (182 hp). The two Ecoblue four-cylinder turbo diesel engines deliver 70 kW (95 hp) and 88 kW (120 hp) in the 1.5-litre version and 110 kW (150 hp) in the 2.0-litre version. In addition to the manual six-speed transmission, an eight-speed automatic transmission is also available as an option for certain versions. 

This autumn the new Ford Focus will be launched in six different equipment lines in Germany: Trend, Cool & Connect, Titanium, ST Line and Vignale. The crossover variant Active will follow a little later.
