The new Porsche 911 GT3 continues to rely on a naturally aspirated engine. At market launch, a version with a "Touring Package" will also be offered.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 features a new contour of the front diffuser, an improved shape of the front lip and modified fins on the underbody to increase downforce. The new Matrix LED headlights combine all functions. A white accent ring is optionally available for the 911 GT3. At the rear, the diffuser, air intakes and rear lid have been redesigned. While the GT3 pulls up with its rear wing, the model with the "Touring Package" does without it. An extendable rear spoiler with a tear-off edge is used instead. The lightweight aluminum wheel is said to reduce the unsprung masses by more than 1.5 kg compared to the wheel set of its predecessor, while a new battery saves around 4 kg. In its lightest configuration, the new 911 GT3 is said to weigh 1,420 kg.

The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine is equipped with two particulate filters and four catalytic converters. It continues to produce 375 kW (510 hp) and features flow-optimized individual throttle valves and optimized oil coolers. Power is transmitted via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) or a six-speed GT manual transmission, both of which have a shorter axle ratio. The 911 GT3 with PDK accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 s and reaches a top speed of 311 km/h (manual transmission: 3.9 s; 313 km/h).

Several Packages for the Porsche 911 GT3

On the suspension side, Porsche uses specially developed, aerodynamically shaped trailing arms with a teardrop profile on the double-wishbone front axle. This is designed to increase downforce in the wheel arch and improve brake cooling at high speeds. To reduce pitching, the front ball joint of the lower trailing arm has been moved down on the front axle.

A new lightweight sports bucket seat with a folding backrest and a CFRP seat shell is optionally available for the new 911 GT3. The seat is equipped with an integrated thorax airbag, electric height adjustment and manual fore/aft setting, and three-stage seat heating is optionally available. Part of the headrest padding can be removed for use with a helmet on the race track. With the Weissach package, the anti-roll bar, coupling rods and shear web on the rear axle, the roof, side plates of the rear wing, exterior mirror upper shell, mirror triangle and the air blades in the front area of the GT3 are made of CFRP, as are the interior door pull handles. A CFRP roll cage and lightweight magnesium forged wheels are available as options. The 911 GT3 is also available with a "Clubsport package" for use on the racetrack, which includes a bolted steel roll cage at the rear, a 6-point seat belt for the driver (in conjunction with the optional bucket seats) and a hand-held fire extinguisher.

A lightweight construction package is available for the Touring version, in which the roof, painted in the body color, as well as the stabilizer, coupling rods and shear web on the rear axle are made of CFRP. The package also includes lightweight magnesium forged wheels and lightweight door panels, as well as the shortened gear lever from the 911 S/T. The new Porsche 911 GT3 and the new Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring package will be available to order from the end of the year.
