Abstract

The study focuses on the modification of epoxy resin using (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane (APTES) and the incorporation of nano-fillers such as nano-silica, organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT), and graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) into basalt fabric-reinforced epoxy laminates. The research aims to enhance the mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of these laminates. The use of APTES as a coupling agent reduces the viscosity of the epoxy resin, improving the fiber/matrix interface and overall mechanical properties. The addition of nano-fillers further enhances the toughness and interfacial interactions of the composites. The study employs various characterization techniques, including FTIR, XRD, and SEM, to examine the morphology and performance of the modified laminates.
