Abstract

The construction industry is one of the world’s most important industries, but today it is one of the most inefficient and late adopters of technological advances. Moreover, the development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology has proliferated, which has generated a revolution in working and carrying out projects, given the many benefits it offers. This work aims to propose an integrative methodology to complement the current project management in construction based on both processes of the Project Management Institute (PMBoK) Guide and BIM methodology. This implementation aims to unify the processes of both methodologies, eliminating redundancies and simplifying the work of project managers and other professionals in the construction industry (architecture, engineering, and construction [AEC]) to manage their projects simpler and efficiently.
