Abstract

The article delves into the critical issue of water pollution caused by industrial dyes, focusing on the anionic dye Nigrosine. It presents an innovative solution using copper nanocomposite-modified Cucumis melo seed powder for the bioremediation of Nigrosine from wastewater. The study compares the performance of defatted and surface-modified adsorbents, demonstrating the superior efficiency of the latter. The research employs advanced characterization techniques such as FTIR, SEM, and BET to analyze the adsorbents' properties. It also explores the impact of various parameters like initial dye concentration, contact time, pH, and adsorbent amount on the adsorption behavior. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of adsorption isotherms and kinetic studies, revealing the underlying mechanisms and the potential of this eco-friendly and cost-effective method for wastewater treatment. The findings highlight the significance of this study in addressing environmental concerns and offer a promising alternative to traditional dye removal methods.
