Abstract
Chapter 7 analyzes how to promote sustainable transport by railway development and an integrated transport system in the future. It identifies the barriers of seamless integration from the perspective of planning. Furthermore, the institutional framework of different transport modes in China is analyzed to emphasize the significance of institutional cooperation for future integration between railways and other transport modes. Finally, some implications for promoting seamless transport integration are made.
