Abstract

The chapter explores the business sector's crucial role in economic growth and its impact on climate change. It introduces the concept of net-zero transition, emphasizing the three predominant climate change risks: physical, litigation liability, and transition. The chapter delves into the subsectors of the business sector, highlighting their unique challenges and opportunities for decarbonization. It also discusses the importance of decarbonization in achieving global climate goals and the role of various stakeholders in this process. The chapter concludes by outlining the challenges and barriers to implementation, providing a holistic view of the complexities involved in transitioning the business sector to net-zero emissions.
