Abstract

The study investigates the effectiveness of an online intervention, 'LifeCraft,' designed to help university students optimize their basic psychological needs—autonomy, relatedness, and competence—during stressful periods such as exams. The intervention aims to enhance students' mental health and resilience by fostering need crafting, a proactive approach to creating optimal conditions for psychological need satisfaction. The article details the methodology, including the design and content of the intervention, as well as the measures used to assess its effectiveness. The study also examines factors that may influence the program's success, such as participants' motivation and engagement, and the role of WhatsApp support in reducing dropout rates. The findings contribute to the understanding of how students can be empowered to manage their mental health proactively, with implications for the development of future prevention programs in higher education.
