Abstract

China is a country with significant regional differences in terms of technology, energy mix, and economic development [1]. The distribution of carbon emissions varies among the 30 mainland provinces (Figs. 3.1–3.5). In 2012, the total carbon emissions were mainly contributed by the eastern coastal regions such as Shandong and Zhejiang and by the energy-based provinces such as Inner Mongolia and Shanxi.
