Abstract

This article delves into the characteristics of AMPS-based self-healing materials and their impact on oil well cement slurry properties. It examines the water absorption properties of AMPS-SAP and AA-SAP in water and cement slurry filtrate, highlighting the significant differences in their performance. Additionally, it evaluates the effects of AMPS-SAP on the rheological properties, thickening time, fluid loss, and compressive strength of cement slurry. The study reveals that AMPS-SAP is more suitable for oil well cement slurries due to its unaffected water absorption rate in the presence of ions and its ability to reduce fluid loss. The findings suggest that AMPS-SAP can enhance the long-term durability and performance of cement slurry in oil well applications.
