Abstract

The article characterizes and evaluates fire response performance in Shanghai based on fire department statistics, focusing on the impact of time, space, and policy factors on travel time and speed. It highlights the critical role of emergency response efficiency in fire suppression and personnel rescue, emphasizing the significance of travel time and speed. The study uses data from 2022 to analyze the distribution and temporal patterns of fire incidents, revealing how factors such as time of day, day of the week, and month influence response times. Additionally, it compares actual travel times and speeds with theoretical values, providing insights into the disparities and correlations with spatial factors like distance to the city center and economic scale. The research also examines the impact of incident severity levels on response times and speeds, offering a comprehensive analysis that contributes to the planning and optimization of fire station locations and response strategies.
