Abstract

The article explores the characterization of hot-, cold-, and warm-curing epoxy binders for composite fabrication by filament winding. It delves into the viscosity, curing properties, and mechanical behavior of these binders, highlighting the importance of binder viscosity in ensuring quality impregnation and binder content. The study compares different curing agents, such as IMTHPA, KhT-152B, and Etal-23Kh, and their effects on the properties of basalt fiber-reinforced plastics. The findings demonstrate that all three binder formulations can be effectively used for composite fabrication, with the hot-curing EDI binder showing slightly superior mechanical properties. The article concludes by emphasizing the suitability of these binders for various temperature-time regimes, making it a valuable resource for professionals in the field of composite materials.
