Abstract

The article presents a detailed characterization of natural cellulosic fibers from Yucca aloifolia L. leaves, highlighting their potential as a sustainable reinforcement in polymer composites. The fibers were analyzed using ATR-FTIR and XRD techniques, revealing the presence of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. The thermal stability and mechanical properties of the fibers were also evaluated, showing promising results comparable to other natural fibers like sisal and kenaf. The study concludes that Yucca aloifolia L. fibers have potential applications in polymer matrix composites, contributing to the growing interest in sustainable materials in various industries.
