Abstract

The article focuses on the significant issue of abnormal periodic mold level fluctuations (PMLF) in commercial slab continuous casters. It discusses the impact of PMLF on slab quality and production efficiency, highlighting the complexity of factors influencing these fluctuations. The study employs big data analysis to characterize PMLF, utilizing FIR filters and FFT to remove noise and highlight fluctuation characteristics. Additionally, it introduces a random forest (RF) model for predicting PMLF quality and a feedforward fuzzy PID (F2FPID) controller for effective control, demonstrating substantial improvements in controlling PMLF compared to traditional methods. The research provides a comprehensive approach to enhancing the stability and quality of continuous casting processes.
