Abstract

The article delves into the carbon emissions of mandarin and tangerine cultivation in China, highlighting the significant role of fertilizer application in driving emissions. Using a life cycle assessment method, the study quantifies the carbon footprint and identifies spatial and temporal trends. Notably, the total carbon emissions have not yet reached their peak, but several provinces, such as Zhejiang and Hubei, have achieved carbon peak status. The analysis also reveals the planting advantages of certain provinces, underscoring the potential for low-carbon development through targeted measures like variety improvement and precise fertilization.
