Abstract

The article delves into the perceptions of climate change in Latin America, focusing on the regional consensus and sociodemographic differences. It explores how Latin Americans attribute climate change to human activities and express high levels of concern and emotional responses such as worry, sadness, and guilt. The study also highlights the influence of factors like sex, parental status, and age on these perceptions, revealing that women and younger individuals tend to be more concerned and emotionally affected. Furthermore, it discusses the potential implications of these findings for climate action strategies and the need for a united response in the region. The research is based on a representative online survey conducted across 18 Latin American countries, providing valuable insights into the complex dynamics of climate change perceptions in the region.
