Abstract

The article introduces a cognitively-inspired multi-scale spectral-spatial transformer for hyperspectral image super-resolution. This approach addresses the challenges of low spatial resolution in hyperspectral images by extracting multi-scale spatial features and modeling long-range dependencies. The proposed method also captures the strong correlations between spectral bands, mitigating spectral distortion. The article details the architecture of the transformer, including the multi-scale spatial transformer (MSSAT) and multi-scale spectral transformer (MSSET) blocks, and demonstrates the effectiveness of the method through extensive experiments on public datasets. The results show that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art techniques in both spatial reconstruction quality and spectral fidelity, making it a significant advancement in the field of hyperspectral image processing.
