Synthesis and characterization of a novel sulfonated poly (aryl ether ketone sulfone) containing rigid fluorene group for DMFCs applications

A new sulfonated poly (aryl ether ketone sulfone) consisting of rigid fluorene groups (SPAEKS) is synthesized from 3, 3′-disulfonate-4, 4′-dichlorodiphenylsulfone, and 9, 9-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) fluorene by a typical condensation polymerization.

Synthesis of polymeric surfactant from palm oil methyl ester for enhanced oil recovery application

Methyl ester sulfonate (MES) is an anionic surfactant derived from natural oils. Polymers are large molecules composed of many repeated units that increase viscosity as a mobility control. Therefore, polymer and surfactant can be reacted into one …

Preparation of monodisperse polystyrene nanoparticles with tunable sizes based on soap-free emulsion polymerization technology

Herein, a one-step procedure for the preparation of monodispersed nanoparticles was achieved, with tunable size in range of around 30~300 nm based on soap-free emulsion polymerization using sodium p-styrene sulfonate as ionic comonomer. The …

Exploring the structure of sol-gel-derived hybrids for immobilization of RNA: Influence of RNA content

In this work, RNA oligonucleotides (yeast) were immobilized in silica (SiO2)/polyethylene glycol (PEG) hybrid particles. Two different particulate hybrids containing 55 and 110 μg RNA per g of SiO2 precursor were prepared using hydrous sol-gel …

About this journal

Colloid and Polymer Science - a leading international journal of longstanding tradition - is devoted to colloid and polymer science and its interdisciplinary interactions. As such, it responds to a demand which has lost none of its actuality as revealed in the trends of contemporary materials science. To enable an effective and fast dissemination of scientific manuscripts, four categories of contributions are presented:

- Invited review articles
- Perspectives
- Original contributions
- Short communications

The latter will be published with high priority, at least within two weeks after acceptance of the manuscript. (The usual time between acceptance and publishing OnlineFirst is typically three weeks.) With this immediacy, Colloid and Polymer Science serves as a reliable partner for an effective distribution of scientific results.
