Bosch has established the Bosch Hydrogen Powertrain Systems joint venture with commercial vehicle manufacturer Qingling Motors. The first test fleet of trucks is scheduled to hit Chinese roads before the end of 2021.

In Chongqing (China), Bosch and commercial vehicle manufacturer Qingling Motors have founded the joint venture Bosch Hydrogen Powertrain Systems. The new company will develop, assemble, and market fuel cell systems for the Chinese market. A test fleet of 70 Qingling trucks equipped with Bosch’s Fuel Cell Power Module will hit the road before the end of 2021. The market launch of the fuel cell system is planned for 2022/2023.

Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Qingling Motors produces light, medium, and heavy trucks which will be equipped with Bosch’s Fuel Cell Power Modules. The components required for this, such as the fuel cell stack, air compressor with power electronics, and control unit with sensors, are sourced mainly from Bosch’s fuel cell plant in Wuxi (China). The two companies have already been working together for years in the fields of fuel injection and exhaust gas aftertreatment.
