Abstract

In an era of rapid educational transformation, this chapter explores the impact of traditional, flipped, and adaptive learning approaches on student performance and engagement in higher education. Traditional methods, characterized by in-class lectures and out-of-class assignments, offer a stable but less dynamic learning environment. Flipped learning, which involves students engaging with content outside the classroom and applying it during class time, shows promise in enhancing engagement but exhibits higher variability in student performance. Adaptive learning, leveraging technology to personalize educational content, emerges as the most effective approach, with the highest mean scores and moderate variability. The chapter provides a thorough review of related literature, a detailed methodology, and a comprehensive analysis of results, offering valuable insights for educators aiming to optimize learning outcomes. By comparing these approaches, the chapter sheds light on the potential of personalized and engaging learning methods to revolutionize higher education.
