Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive comparison of two kinetic models—the Extended Independent Parallel Reaction (EIPR) model and the kinetic lumped model—for simulating the pyrolysis and combustion of biomass under low temperature ramps. It discusses the theoretical framework and practical applications of these models, highlighting their use in predicting thermal degradation processes. The study focuses on three distinct biomass materials—cotton makeup remover, oak, and palm nut fibers—and evaluates the models' efficiency through error measurements between experimental and simulated conversion and conversion rate curves. The article provides valuable insights into the optimal determination of kinetic parameters and the performance of these models in simulating complex thermal degradation processes.
