Abstract

This chapter delves into the advancements in electroless plating techniques to enhance the surface properties of aluminum alloys. It focuses on the use of Ni-P electroless plating with the addition of Al2O3 and MoS2 nano-particles to create composite coatings. The study examines the impact of varying concentrations of these nano-particles on coating thickness, micro-hardness, and surface morphology. Through detailed characterization methods such as XRD and FESEM, the research highlights the significant improvements in hardness, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance achieved with these composite coatings. The findings offer valuable insights into optimizing the coating process for enhanced performance in severe operating conditions.
