An overview of the past and present state of construction productivity in Singapore have revealed the unexplored barriers holding back the optimisation of manpower usage. This research have suggested the importance of changing mind-sets across the entire construction value chain and the way people work to help the industry embrace lean construction. A holistic approach is needed that focuses not just on reducing on-site manpower with precast construction but leveraging on lean implementation to remove construction wastes to minimise the total manpower required on-site and off-site. …
