Abstract

The article introduces a novel quantum state preparation method that combines top-down and bottom-up strategies to achieve sublinear scaling in both quantum circuit depth and width. This bidirectional approach allows for configurable trade-offs between computational time and space, making it particularly advantageous for Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) devices. The method is validated through experiments on various quantum devices, demonstrating its potential to enhance the efficiency of quantum state preparation for a wide range of applications, including Quantum Machine Learning and Quantum Linear Algebra. The paper also provides a detailed analysis of the complexity and performance of the bidirectional method, highlighting its advantages over existing state preparation techniques.
