Abstract

The article presents the development of a physically crosslinked hydrogel composed of cellulose nanofibrils (CNF), alkali lignin (AL), montmorillonite (MMT), and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). This innovative material is designed for the removal of methylene blue from wastewater. The authors detail the preparation process, characterization through techniques like AFM, FTIR, XRD, and TGA, and evaluate the hydrogel's mechanical properties and adsorption performance. The study highlights the potential of this hydrogel in enhancing wastewater treatment efficiency, offering a sustainable solution for industrial waste management.
