The article explores the growing need for content-oriented Internet models due to the increasing volume of content delivery traffic. It introduces the Content-Oriented Framework for Future Internet (COFI), designed to facilitate communication between IP networks and Content-Centric Networks (CCN). COFI addresses the mismatch between content-oriented and address-centric models by proposing innovations such as a mapping mechanism, extended anycast functionality, and a request pending mechanism. These innovations enable efficient content delivery and reduce communication costs and latency. The framework is evaluated through simulations, demonstrating its superior performance compared to existing standards and traditional CCN methods. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of COFI in achieving seamless communication between IP networks and CCN, paving the way for a more efficient and cost-effective future Internet.
