Abstract

Copolymerization involves the polymerization of two different monomers to form copolymers with varying structures such as alternating, statistical, block, and graft copolymers. The synthesis of copolymers requires specific methods and parameters, including the Mayo-Lewis equation and copolymerization parameters. The chapter also discusses the industrial importance of copolymers, such as ABS terpolymers, and the influence of solvents and polymerization mechanisms on copolymerization behavior. Additionally, it covers the experimental determination of copolymerization parameters and the structural elucidation of copolymers using various analytical techniques.
