As mobile measuring stations, vehicles offer the potential to improve the accuracy of road weather maps and thus contribute to road safety. Automated driving functions in particular require accurate weather information. As of today, raw vehicle data is unsuitable for use in meteorological applications. Corrections are being developed and tested as part of the Flowkar research project, which is being conducted at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) together with Germany's National Meteorological Service (DWD) and Audi. …
