Abstract

The article delves into the corrosion behavior of N80 steel in underground supercritical CO2 environments, a crucial aspect of CO2 capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies. The study highlights the impact of high salinity and temperature on corrosion rates and mechanisms, providing valuable data on general and pitting corrosion rates. Experimental settings replicate real-world conditions, offering insights into the protective effects of corrosion products and the influence of environmental factors on steel integrity. The research aims to inform anti-corrosion strategies and wellbore integrity evaluations in CCUS projects, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of oil fields.
