Abstract

This chapter delves into the critical factors influencing the project management processes (PMPs) of construction projects in Vietnam, with a particular focus on Hanoi. It identifies 32 key factors affecting five process groups: initiating, planning, implementing, controlling, and closing. The study uses the Relative Influence Index (RINI) to rank these factors based on the viewpoints of different stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, owners, and others. The findings reveal that the initiating and controlling process groups are highly valued by stakeholders, while the planning process group is often overlooked. The chapter also provides suggestions for improving the PMPs of construction projects in Vietnam, based on the most critical factors identified. The results of this study can benefit not only construction projects in Vietnam but also those in other developing countries.
