Abstract

This article delves into the intricate relationship between blend composition, crystallization behavior, and macroscopic properties of ethylene-propylene block copolymer/random copolymer blends. The study employs advanced techniques such as Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), synchrotron Wide-Angle X-ray Diffraction (WAXD), synchrotron Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Polarized Optical Microscopy (POM) to provide a comprehensive analysis of the blends' structural and mechanical properties. The findings reveal a significant mutual nucleation synergy between the block copolymer and random copolymer, which profoundly influences the crystalline structure formation and resultant material properties. The article highlights how controlled compositional adjustments can balance crystallinity, mechanical strength, and toughness, offering valuable insights for the rational design of polyolefin blends with enhanced property profiles. The detailed examination of the blends' hierarchical structure development and mechanical property profiles underscores the potential for optimizing material performance through structural modification and composition control.
