Abstract

The chapter delves into the use of data mining techniques in personnel selection, focusing on the IT department of a company. It discusses the challenges of traditional recruitment methods, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and presents a data-driven approach using machine learning algorithms. The study analyzes 72 candidate applications, extracting feature values and classifying candidates based on their suitability. The use of decision tree, random forest, and other algorithms is explored, with accuracy percentages evaluated through cross-validation. The chapter concludes by emphasizing the importance of data mining in modernizing and digitizing business processes, offering a more objective and efficient alternative to traditional multi-criteria decision-making methodologies.
