Abstract

This chapter delves into the optimization of multi-camera surveillance systems for maximum coverage in complex environments, addressing the challenges of camera placement and configuration. The authors propose a decomposition-based integer programming method to solve the NP-hard problem efficiently, using a k-edge-connected graph decomposition algorithm to break down the problem into smaller, manageable subproblems.
