Abstract

The article presents a pioneering protocol for decoupling nuclear spins in NV centers via interaction-induced freezing, leveraging the hyperfine coupling between the NV center’s electron and nuclear spins. By applying tailored microwave and RF fields, the researchers achieve effective shielding of the nuclear spin from environmental noise, extending its coherence time. This protocol, validated through numerical simulations, highlights the potential for enhancing quantum memory applications and isolating nuclear spins from external fields, offering a significant leap in quantum information science.
