Zusammenfassung

Zahlreiche Faktoren können die Resilienz eines Menschen stärken oder schwächen. Zu einem großen Teil liegen diese außerhalb der Einflusssphäre des Einzelnen, da sie durch die Genetik oder durch frühkindliche Erfahrungen geformt werden. Während einige Studien nahelegen, dass Alter und Geschlecht einen Einfluss auf das Resilienzvermögen haben, konnte in neueren Untersuchungen gezeigt werden, dass diese Wirkung zu einem Großteil durch den sozioökonomischen Status vermittelt wird. Ein anderer Schutzfaktor, der durch gezielte Interventionen gestärkt werden kann, ist die soziale Eingebundenheit. Wer mehr soziale Unterstützung erlebt, sich den Mitmenschen näher fühlt und ihnen vertraut, ist besser gegen Stress und traumatische Ereignisse gewappnet.
