Der Aufstieg der Roboter im deutschen Arbeitsmarkt

Zusammenfassung

Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht den Einfluss von Industrierobotern auf den deutschen Arbeitsmarkt. Welche Auswirkungen hatten sie auf die Löhne und die Beschäftigung in Deutschland im Zeitraum von 1994 bis 2014? Der Gesamteinfluss war praktisch null. Die These, wonach Roboter zu Massenarbeitslosigkeit führen, kann also zumindest bislang empirisch nicht bestätigt werden. Die Roboter beschleunigen aber den Strukturwandel hin zu den Dienstleistungen und reduzieren die Beschäftigung im verarbeitenden Gewerbe. Außerdem steigern sie die Lohnungleichheit und begünstigen v. a. die Unternehmensgewinne und den Faktor Kapital. Abschließend wird kurz diskutiert, ob Mitarbeiterbeteiligungen ein geeignetes Instrument sind, um sich diesen Verteilungsproblemen zu stellen, die sich aus Digitalisierung und Automatisierung ergeben.
