Abstract

The article delves into the design and application of a passive very high-frequency memristor emulator, a device that mimics the behavior of a memristor without requiring active components. The authors introduce a novel emulator circuit based on a transmission gate structure, which operates effectively in a floating configuration and achieves zero static power consumption. The emulator is designed to replicate the operational mechanism of an ideal memristor, making it crucial for investigating memristor applications during their early development stages. The article also presents simulation results and practical experiments that validate the performance of the emulator under various conditions, including frequency, temperature, and process variations. Additionally, the authors demonstrate the feasibility of using the memristor emulator to construct analog logic gates and digital circuits, such as NAND and NOR gates, high-level D flip-flops, and rising edge D flip-flops. The article concludes by highlighting the practicality and robustness of the designed passive memristor emulator, which maintains its hysteresis characteristics even at high input frequencies and different operational conditions.
