Abstract

A monitoring system enables the proper operation and contributes to identifying system malfunctioning before any major breakdown. The Internet of Things (IoT) technology is realized as an emergent design paradigms related to the communications. In this chapter, a low-cost power diagnosis node has been developed on the mockery of IoT technology for monitoring the clustered stand-alone or smaller size solar home system in the rural area of a developing country. The paper illustrates ESP 8266 microcontroller-based power diagnosis node where it acts as an interoperable application layer for transmitting data between the remote users and the solar panels. Data can be downloaded directly from the database to analyze and verify the system operation.
