Abstract

The article discusses the importance of voltage reference circuits (VRCs) in modern electronic systems and the need for low-power and small die area VRCs. It highlights the challenges in VRC design due to multiple design parameters and trade-offs. The authors introduce the LPSPSO technique, a modified particle swarm optimization method, to address these challenges. The article presents two case studies: the design of a low-power VRC and a nano-watt self-powered VRC. The LPSPSO technique is shown to effectively optimize the design parameters, such as die area, power consumption, line sensitivity, and temperature coefficient, with high fidelity. The article concludes with a discussion on the effectiveness of LPSPSO in VRC design and its potential for improving the performance of analog circuits.
