Abstract

The article introduces the design of an ear-contactless stethoscope, highlighting its low cost and accuracy in diagnosing various heart sound types. It also delves into the improvement of deep learning-based CNN for classifying heart sounds, focusing on the performance enhancement through hyperparameter tuning. The research aims to develop a reliable tool for the early screening of heart diseases, with a particular emphasis on valvular heart diseases. The study compares the developed system with conventional stethoscopes and other machine learning methods, demonstrating its superior performance in terms of accuracy and screening time. The integration of squeeze and excitation blocks with inception and residual networks is also explored, showcasing significant improvements in model performance. The article concludes with a detailed experimental evaluation and a discussion on the future scope of the developed system in rural healthcare applications.
