Simulation has considerably reduced the time needed for hot engine testing. By determining and optimising procedures which still need to be performed on the test bed, AVL and MTU use design of experiment methodology to precisely tailor test strategies to the targeted data. Reductions in fuel consumed, emissions released into the atmosphere and expensive test bed occupancy result. …
