Abstract

The article delves into the challenges of frequency regulation in hybrid power systems, particularly those involving renewable energy sources. It reviews existing control strategies and identifies gaps in addressing the dynamics of microgrids. The core contribution is the development of a hybrid fuzzy load frequency controller with self-organized membership functions, tuned using a hybrid GA-PSO algorithm. This approach aims to improve dynamic frequency stability and robustness in hybrid power systems under varying operating conditions. The methodology is validated through a small-signal model of a three-area interconnected power system, showcasing the effectiveness of the proposed controller in maintaining stable frequency regulation.
