Abstract

The chapter presents the design and construction of an experimental stand for testing pneumatic bellows actuators, highlighting their unique properties such as low installation height and high resistance to dynamic loads. The stand is equipped with advanced control systems and sensors to measure pressure, force, and volume changes. The chapter includes a detailed mathematical model to describe the forces acting on the bellows, which is validated through experimental data. The results of the tests are analyzed using regression analysis, leading to a polynomial model for the force generated by the bellows as a function of pressure and height. The chapter concludes with a discussion on the effective area of the bellows and the potential for further research into the relationship between volume, effective area, and pressure.
