Abstract

The article presents a novel design of a wide stopband lowpass filter using a defected ground structure (DGS) in a coplanar waveguide (CPW) environment. The filter is designed to suppress unwanted high-frequency harmonics and achieve a wide stopband with a low insertion loss. The triangle-shaped DGS is introduced to reduce undesired coupling between resonators, and both electromagnetic and equivalent circuit simulations are conducted to validate the design. The proposed filter exhibits superior performance compared to existing designs, making it a valuable contribution to the field of microwave and RF engineering.
