Abstract

So far implementation of zonal architectures has been limited to prototype vehicles and systematic approaches for their design have not established. To tackle this issue, the individual solutions discussed in Chapter 3 with respect to the system and its environment described in Chapter 2 are joined to realize a holistic design method. Hence a method is introduced for designing a zonal architecture based on the optimization of traction battery, power distribution and wiring harness, while ensuring compatibility with vehicle packaging.
