6. Design und Entwicklung der MYOW-Plattform

Zusammenfassung

Das Verbundprojekt „MYOW – Make Your Own Wearables“ hatte das Ziel, Designende, Maker, Dienstleistende und Herstellende zur Entwicklung personalisierter Wearables zusammenzubringen. Die moderne Informationstechnik bietet immer leistungsfähigere Sensoren, Aktoren und Anzeigegeräte, mit denen Bekleidung intelligente, nützliche Funktionalitäten verliehen werden kann. Eine Herausforderung bleibt jedoch die Individualisierung dieser Wearables für einen konkreten Anwendungskontext, z. B. im Bereich Gesundheit oder Arbeit mit persönlichen Prioritäten, weil dazu die Kombination verschiedenster Kompetenzen vom Design über Elektrotechnik und Programmieren bis hin zur Herstellung erforderlich ist. Deshalb sollte eine Plattform entwickelt werden, die eine arbeitsteilige Entwicklung von Wearables unterstützt. Die Umsetzung des MYOW-Projekts verfolgte einen partizipativen Designansatz, um die verschiedenen Komponenten der MYOW-Plattform zu konzipieren und entwickeln, wie z. B. Zusammenstellung von Teams, Entwicklung eines Elektronikbaukastens, Empfehlungen zur Platzierung von Input- und Output-Elementen auf Textilien und Programmierung des Ablaufverhaltens. Abschließend erfolgte eine Erprobung und Validierung der entstandenen Plattform durch die prototypische Erstellung eines AI-Hoodies und Operator Jacket.
