Abstract

This paper presents experiments using IoT systems for chronic arthritis patients monitoring using an inexpensive and convenient wristband, avoiding expensive medical equipment. The main goal is to see if it is possible to distinguish between different types of patient behavior while performing very similar exercises. The data from the wristband were collected through a communication system and statistically analyzed. The comparison of the obtained results allows for reliable, reproducible, and accurate decoding of individual cases. The publication describes the various steps in the data collection and analysis and gives the results in the form of receiver operating characteristic curves for all measured features and a comparison of performed and detected exercises.
