Abstract

This chapter delves into the detection of epileptic seizures, a common neurological condition affecting millions worldwide. It introduces the combination of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Power Spectral Density (PSD) as effective methods for analyzing EEG signals. The study reviews previous research and proposes a methodology that includes feature extraction using DWT and PSD, along with deep learning techniques. The proposed method is applied to the Bonn EEG dataset, demonstrating high accuracy in seizure detection. The chapter highlights the significance of accurate seizure detection in improving the quality of life for patients and the efficiency of medical systems.
